Anthurium Care Tips

1. Watering
Anthuriums prefer consistently moist but not soggy soil.
Water when the top 1–2 inches of soil are dry.
Ensure your pot has drainage holes and never let the plant sit in standing water.
Cut back on watering during the dormant season (fall and winter).

2. Humidity
High humidity is essential for Anthuriums to thrive and produce their characteristic glossy leaves and long-lasting blooms.
Maintain humidity levels above 60% if possible.
Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or place in a bathroom with bright light to boost humidity.
Misting can help but should not replace consistent ambient moisture.

3. Temperature
Anthuriums prefer warm, stable conditions year-round.
Ideal range: 65–80°F (18–27°C)
Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 55°F (13°C), which can stress or damage the plant.

4. Light
Bright, indirect light promotes healthy foliage and regular blooming.
Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
Too little light may lead to fewer flowers and slow growth.
A spot near a north or east-facing window is usually ideal.

Extra Tips
Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and encourage photosynthesis.
Fertilize every 6–8 weeks in the growing season with a balanced or bloom-focused fertilizer.
Use a well-draining, chunky potting mix (such as one made for aroids or orchids).
Repot every 1–2 years or when roots begin to outgrow the container.
