Monstera Care Tips

1. Watering
Monsteras prefer a balance between moisture and airflow in the soil.
Water when the top 2–3 inches of soil feel dry to the touch.
Ensure the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
Reduce watering frequency in cooler months or low light conditions.
2. Humidity
As tropical plants, Monsteras thrive in higher humidity environments.
Aim for 50–60% humidity or higher.
Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or group with other plants to raise humidity levels.
Occasional misting can help, especially in dry climates or during winter.
3. Temperature
Monsteras enjoy consistent warmth.
Ideal temperature range: 65–85°F (18–29°C)
Avoid exposure to cold drafts or temperatures below 55°F (13°C).
Keep away from heaters or air conditioners that can dry or chill the plant.
4. Light
Bright, indirect light is best for Monsteras.
Near a filtered south or east-facing window is ideal.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
In lower light, the plant may grow more slowly and produce fewer fenestrations (leaf splits and holes).
Extra Tips
Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and help the plant absorb light.
Fertilize once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer.
Use a moss pole or trellis to support mature Monsteras as they begin to climb.
Repot every 1–2 years or when roots begin to crowd the pot.
